Gingerbread Houses

Tyler was totally in charge of the decoration for our gingerbread house. We went to our ward Christmas party this year - and this is what we did. I put the frosting where he told me and he added all the candy.
Dad helped him decorate the yard. You can't have a house covered in snow and not have any on the ground (or so I was told)

This was his result. YUM!!!

Snow Day

Yes!! It actually snowed in St. George! It doesn't take much for washington county to give you the day off. We got about 4" of snow that stuck to the ground after 3 days of snow.
Of course the boys had to build a snowman. They stayed out in the snow all day yesterday. The whole neighborhood is filled with snowmen.

By the time they were done they had a whole family of snow people but I only took a picture of this one. They made sure he was ready for anything...

Did you notice his hat? Does he remind you of anyone you know?

Thanksgiving

Can you imagine cooking Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings in this tiny kitchen? Well I managed by doing alot of the cooking before we ever left home.

I took a bigger table so I could load it down with all the food. Dinner was great!! And I cooked enough for them to eat leftovers for the rest of the trip.

Can you imagine cooking Thanksgiving dinner in this little kitchen? Well I did. It wasn't too bad because I did most of the cooking before hand at home (where I have double ovens) It was a fun weekend.

They got fed all the trimmings! I coooked enough foor to eat left overs the rest of the trip. I just had to bring a bigger table to make everything fit.

Halloween At Our House

Tyler carved his pumpkin and made a mess everywhere!!

But he liked the result and only went through 3 candles before halloween.

Tyler dressed up as a pirate, but his favorite trick-or-treating partner of the night was Emalee dressed as Tinkerbell. She kept wanting to go to ONE more house. Her bucket wasn't full yet. The night was fun all the way around for us. Tyler went trick-or-treating with a group of friends when we got back home so we got to relax and hand out candy. (no 10 mile hike)

We went out to take family pictures while everyone was here for the weekend. It was a challenge but we did get everyone in the picture.

I don't know how many of you have known about my crazy diet but here's a picture of me so you can see I haven't been lying about the weight loss. 50 pounds off and a few more to go.

Football Season

the Pine View High School football season is well under way. Matthew is number 92 (according to him- a lucky number) and he is having fun.
Matthew's team is the one in dark colors- he is the one standing on the end waiting to pounce.
They have had a good year so far. Matthew's only injuries to this point have been losing a fingernail, and a sore shoulder. He really likes the tackling part, and manages to get clear across the field to help out. It is fun to watch.

Off To U of U

What a week. He got his car tuned up, changed the oil, renewed the plates for another year, and 2 new tires. He went through everything he owns and packed for school. Got in his car Thursday morning and headed out to school- he called 30 minutes later to say the car was smoking. Kary called everywhere looking for a part, finally at the bottom of the list he found one in stock, and we headed to Cedar City. Thank goodness that fixed the problem and he was able to continue his trip- while we went back home.
He did arrive at the school. He has moved into the dorms. And school starts on Monday.

Campin' Anyone

As you can see we have been spending a lot of time on the go. The boys have been camping so many times in the past month I think they are always this dirty. (and as you can see from the picture it has really helped with the brotherly love) Tyler just finished a week of scout camp. Craig and Matthew have been on 4 more camping trips. They went camping for super activity this weekend. All of them have been having a great summer.

Four Wheelin' Anyone?

We went four wheeling and the boys decided they were going to get to the end of this trail no matter what. This huge log had fallen, blocking the whole trail. They hooked up the winch on the front of Kary's bike and tried to pull it off the road. It moved a little and then got stuck. Next they broke off all the branches, lined everyone up on both sides, and lifted....
Amazingly they got the log far enough off the trail to drive around it. There was a stream that wound back and forth across the trail, that we were going through nice and slow. We didn't want to be covered in water and dirt. (all except Matthew) Matthew would wait until everyone else had gone through the water, get a running start, and make a big splash. He soaked him and Tyler from head to foot. I didn't get a picture of it but you could hear the laughter for miles.

About a two miles up the trail they found another log over the road, this time it was lodged and no way to push it anywhere. They broke all the brances off, and drove underneath ther log. Kary's bike is the biggest, so he went first to see if he could fit. He was leaning over pretty far, but he made it. I got pictures of the rest of the crew going under. (I walked, thought it would be safer)

After all of this, we made it about 200 feet from the end of the trail. Right at the end 3 trees had fallen crossing each other and we couldn't go any farther. The boys had fun, and they got to go through all the fun obsticles again on the way back.

Trip to Yellowstone

We went to Yellowstone for our anniversary trip. This arch is in Afton, Wyoming.
We saw alot of buffalo everywhere.
There is still a lot of snow in the park
But the bears are out! And on the Hunt for food.

It was a fun but wet week.

Graduation Time

Craig is doing his victory dance as he goes through the PV. He is thrilled to be done with high school and now- it's on to college.

ALL TEENAGERS NOW

Tyler turned 13 this month. He had a huge friend party, but I didn't get any pictures. I was too busy being refree/ peace keeper/ trying to roll the ball straight for the next person in line/ everything, for a wicked game of kickball. The kids had a lot of fun.

The grandkids came for a visit

Kolbie and Kamree are watching Sponge Bob with Matthew
Kenyon and Tyler are getting ready to build with the tonka trucks

Kamree picked a pillow fight with grandpa
After about 15 minutes they both decided they had been hit enough.

We went out for an Easter Picnic (of course we had to take the "killer" hunting dogs along) We spent the afternoon hiking and just enjoying the great outdoors.

The Hunt is ON!

We spend a lot of time scouting the basketball talent around here...
and all of the boys love to play
some more agressive....than others

Kary is the coach of the ward team. They won first place and will
going to the playoffs the end of March

In January we were hunting for our newest 18 year old. Of course being the kind parent I am I made an appointment for the eye doctor for right after school, (all he wanted was contacts) went to the school after lunch and filled his car to the very top with all sizes of balloons. Then got lucky enough to be on the phone with him when he walked out to his car. "Mooooooooom" It was a great laugh- and a birthday he won't forget soon. He looks GOOD in his contacts.
