Nascar Weekend

One of the pre-race events we went to was done by the National Guard. If you did 30 pushups, or 30 sit ups, or 10 pull ups- you got the choice of a t-shirt or hat. Matthew made the pushups look WAY TOO EASY. Everybody gave it a shot. Kary did pushups, Tyler did situps, and I did pushups (I only had to do 15)
There were a lot of cautions during the race. We saw some GREAT wrecks!

The race was the Shelby 427, so they had a lot of cars for show around the track...

The boys really enjoyed the cars!!!

Matthew's Birthday

We had a big party planned but, his schedule changed so we just had cake and ice cream with just the four of us. I have a funny video of his birthday present. We got him his class ring (and that comes in a very small box) I wrapped it in 6 different boxes, added a few noisy boxes of candy, and let it sit on the table for the week before his birthday. He couldn't figure out what it could be. He does like it!!! It was a fun day. (even if I am late posting pictures)

Christmas

Christmas at our house this year was fun. The kids actually let us sleep until seven. (a first- they are usually up before 5) everyone got some cool stuff...
Tyler got an erector set with instructions to make about 30 things. It even has a motor to make them work when he's done. Right now he has a backhoe to show off...

Matthew and Craig both got cameras. I am looking forward to seeing some of the goofy pictures they take. Matthew's favorite gift was a book from Uncle Mark on "Backyard Ballistics" I keep stressing the adult supervsion (do I really have any here) Craig got some luggage so he can travel without his laundry hamper (it seemed like a good idea)

I got royally spoiled this year!! Kary surprised me with a Cricut Expression.

Gingerbread Houses

Tyler was totally in charge of the decoration for our gingerbread house. We went to our ward Christmas party this year - and this is what we did. I put the frosting where he told me and he added all the candy.
Dad helped him decorate the yard. You can't have a house covered in snow and not have any on the ground (or so I was told)

This was his result. YUM!!!

Snow Day

Yes!! It actually snowed in St. George! It doesn't take much for washington county to give you the day off. We got about 4" of snow that stuck to the ground after 3 days of snow.
Of course the boys had to build a snowman. They stayed out in the snow all day yesterday. The whole neighborhood is filled with snowmen.

By the time they were done they had a whole family of snow people but I only took a picture of this one. They made sure he was ready for anything...

Did you notice his hat? Does he remind you of anyone you know?

Thanksgiving

Can you imagine cooking Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings in this tiny kitchen? Well I managed by doing alot of the cooking before we ever left home.

I took a bigger table so I could load it down with all the food. Dinner was great!! And I cooked enough for them to eat leftovers for the rest of the trip.

Can you imagine cooking Thanksgiving dinner in this little kitchen? Well I did. It wasn't too bad because I did most of the cooking before hand at home (where I have double ovens) It was a fun weekend.

They got fed all the trimmings! I coooked enough foor to eat left overs the rest of the trip. I just had to bring a bigger table to make everything fit.
